Faculty Advisor	According to your own interested research field, new graduate students are allowed to choose your advisors immediately after semester begins. Students should fill in a form and submit it to the office prior to the end of first academic year. In the future, in the case of changing advisors, students must submit an official application and fill in a declaration. Changing advisors is limited to one time.

Proposal	一、Application for Proposal 1. Prerequisite：Students who complete core courses and whose credits amount to 24 are allowed to apply for Proposal Oral Exam. Students' draft proposal should be permitted by advisors before submitting your application. 2. Applicant must present：application form & full acaemic year transcript. 3. Withdraw Proposal Oral Exam：For some reason, students who want to cancel the exam should fill in a form and submit it to the office. 二、Conduct the examination （一）Proposal Oral Exam committee members are organized which follows NTU school rules. The number of committee members should be 3 to 5 persons. Your advisor is ex officio member and helps you formulate an advisory commitee. （二）Students have to submit all necessary documents to the office one month prior to your oral exam in order to review your qualification. Students will receive all necessary forms two weeks before oral exam. （三）Proposal Oral Exam should be announced earlier than conducting and should be open to audition.

Oral Thesis Defense for Master Degree

一、Application for Oral Thsis Defense
1. Prerequisite：
（一）Students who complete all courses, pass Proposal Oral Exam and have a paper presentation in the conference are allowed to apply for Oral Thesis Defense.
（二）M.A. students should study more than one semester. M.A. students who are direct admission to Ph.D program should study in Ph.D program more than three semesters.
（三）Students must complete your thesis draft.
2. Application Deadline：After semester begins, you can submit your application before 11/30 in the first semester and before 4/30 in the second semester.
3. Applicant must present：
（一）Please log in to myNTU, download and print your application form, then submit it to the office with your advisors' signature.
（二）Grade Review Application Form
（三）Full Academic Transcript
（四）Presentation Review Application Form
（五）Any proof of documents for conference presentation
（六）BICD check list for Oral Thesis Defense
4. Procedure：Please log in to myNTU, download and print your application form, then submit all necessary documents signed by your advisors to the office before deadline. Your application forms will be reviewed by administrators first, then chair of Dept. BICD will double check your qualification. Finally, your application form will be sent to Office of Academic Affairs, then the procedure of application is finished.
5. Withdraw Oral Thesis Defense Exam：For some reason, students who could not conduct Oral Thesis Defense Exam prior to time limit have to fill in a form and submit it to the office before deadline to cancel the exam. Students who do not conduct or cancel exam before time limit will be counted as one fail in your Oral Thesis Defense Exam.

二、Committee Members Organization
1.Committee Members are appointment by selection and should be 3 to 5 persons. One of members will be appointed as chairperson of commitee by chair of Dept. or chair of graduate institute. However, student's advisors are not allowed to serve as the chairperson of committee. All members are organized which follows NTU school rules.
2.No later than one month before exam should test-takers tell administrators who your committee members are and fill in a form so that we can send out an official document to them.

三、Conduct Oral Thesis Defense Exam
1.Deadline：You should conduct Oral Thesis Defense Exam prior to 1/31 in the first semester. Besides, no later than 7/31 in the second semester should you finish Oral Thesis Defense Exam.
2.Procedure：Students will receive all documents you need 2 weeks earlier before exam. Make sure all documents are correct. Make sure all facilities you need are well prepared.

Thesis Submission	1. Students who passed final oral exam should submit paper thesis, e-file thesis, and report card to the office. Submission Deadline (paper & e-file): 1st Semester before 2/15 2nd Semester before 8/20 2. Students who cannot submit thesis before deadline should fill in a form before deadline. 3. Students whose submission is overdue and who do not reach the minimum length of study should register and pay tuition fee in the next semester, which can be counted as graduation in this semester if students submit thesis before deadline.
